Academic Lead for General Practice

Salary: £88,364 - £119,133 per annum, pro rata

Part-Time working 0.40% FTE, Permanent Position (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Warwick Medical School (WMS) runs the largest Graduate Entry Medicine (MB ChB) programme in the UK, attracting highly motivated students from all educational backgrounds and producing excellent medical graduates. An exciting opportunity has arisen with the development of new leadership positions within the General Practice team. . 

These posts will directly support the Academic Lead for General Practice and will contribute to the development of our primary care clinical teaching.  You will work alongside existing academic and administrative colleagues within the medical school, the network of practice-based tutors and representatives of local NHS Trusts (both those responsible for community-based services and secondary care provision).  There may also be the opportunity to collaborate nationally with General Practice teams from other medical schools.

You must be a working GP and have extensive experience and proof of excellence in general practice / community-based clinical education at undergraduate and / or postgraduate levels.

Post 104067 Associate Clinical Professor (Academic Lead for General Practice)

This role focuses on the development and Quality Assurance (QA) of GP placements.  Working closely with the Academic Lead for GP, you will support the successful implementation of community-based general practice placements and primary care teaching within the MBChB curriculum and their dovetailing with the associated secondary care elements.  The role will support the Academic Lead for General Practice, sharing implementation of the increased recruitment and training requirements for practices, and assessment activity.
