Consultant in Nephrology 7 PAs contract - Substantive
This is an exciting new collaboration between LNWHT and ICHT in seeking to jointly appoint a trust-based consultant nephrologist to be based at Ealing Hospital. The post holder will have a dedicated office space and secretarial support will be provided by dedicated staff based within the service. The role encompasses both an outpatient and inpatient remit.
This part time post post has arisen because of increasing need for nephrology inpatient support at the Ealing Hospital site. On average each month the nephrology service receives approximately 50 referrals for in patient review. This is an expanding service due to local demographics and there is an opportunity within the remit of this post for reviewing ambulatory provision and seeking pathway changes to improve care delivery.
The post holder will undertake 1 clinic per week within the main outpatient department. The clinics will have a standardised template of 4 new and 8 follow up patients and reflect a mixture of face to face and telephone clinic.
Note: JD is awaiting RCP approval - Final approved version of JD will be sent to applicants prior to the interview.
Main duties of the job
The job includes taking a share of the on-call work on the Hammersmith Hospital site on a 1-in-10 nephrology rota including weekend ward rounds covering one of the Nephrology inpatient wards (1 DCC).
This post is offered as a DCC/SPA split of 5.25 DCC/ 1.75SPA.
