We are looking for 2 consultants in endocrine, diabetes and general medicine to join our team across Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Devon). One position will have a significant component at North Devon District Hospital (with cross site MDTs and opportunity for virtual working), the second position will be based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (RD&E) and North Devon District Hospital.

We are an innovative trust and as a small hospital we are often able to advance treatments more rapidly than larger centres. Our strong multidisciplinary team, recognised through GIRFT, are dynamic and keen to engage with change to ensure excellent patient care. There have been recent advantages in our pump and technology service to reflect the national picture and our endocrinology service is supported by specialist nurses, joint MDTs and the Exeter team. An onsite endocrine specialist nurse is out for recruitment.

Successful candidates will be given a high degree of autonomy and opportunities to develop the service with one post taking the leadership of our Integrated Diabetes Project (recently recognised in the HSJ awards for innovation). There will be time to undertake supporting professional activities, including training and teaching or to pursue sub-speciality interests.

The Royal Devon is consistently ranked top in the South West for staff satisfaction and is based in Devon, a county rated as one of the best places in Britain to live. We support flexible working and timetables which allow you to enjoy all that our unique location offers from surfing or sailing on pristine beaches to hiking or riding on beautiful moorland.

Our medical staffing team will help you get settled, providing financial relocation support, registration for children at one of the excellent local schools and support for partners seeking employment.

Applicants are encouraged to contact Dr Brooke (antonia.brooke@nhs.net), Dr Hands (01271 322443) or Alison Cousins (alison.cousins2@nhs.net) for an informal chat ahead of interview.
