Applications are invited for a full-time 12 months fixed term general ophthalmology consultant post at The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust Department of Ophthalmology. The post holder will be required to cover general and emergency ophthalmology and additional subspecialty clinics based on departmental need. We seek an enthusiastic surgeon to enhance the current ophthalmic services and applicants should wish to be part of and develop the department in the future.

Support the development of the virtual ophthalmology pathways and collaboration with industry partners for the use of AI to enhance patient care in ophthalmology at Chelsea and Westminster

Plans are in place for a �20 million expansion to critical care facilities and refurbishment of the children's unit at West Middlesex, both in partnership with the Trust's dedicated charity CW+.

Main duties of the job
- Weekly outpatient clinics in general and emergency ophthalmology as well as other subspecialties dependent on department needs
- Involvement in an on-call service in conjunction with the North West London ophthalmic services (1:26) and contribution to postgraduate teaching
- Contribution to undergraduate curriculum through lectures, tutorials, SSMs and OSCE's
- Support emergency ophthalmology cover in outpatients and also inpatient cover as needed at sites including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Royal Marsden Hospital and Royal Brompton Hospital.

- oFull GMC Registration
- oRelevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by PMET/GMC by date if Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC))
- oEntry on GMC Specialist Register OR eligible within 6 months of the date of the Advisory Appointments Committee
- oFRCOphth or equivalent
- oGood understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council.
- oMD/PhD or working towards

- oEvidence of broad-based training
