NIHR ACADEMIC CLINICAL LECTURER IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES -
CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY AND THERAPEUTICS
Salary: to be determined with due regard to the transitional arrangements relating to the 2016 contract for doctors and dentists in training (if applicable). Indicative scales; 2016 scale for doctors and dentists in training; £28,243 to £52,043 per annum (plus pay premia where eligible). Post-2009 Clinical Lecturer scale; £34,466 to £60,760 per annum.
Liverpool has extensive internationally leading expertise in the therapeutics of infection. In particular, the Infection Pharmacology Group has a large programme of research in HIV therapy, drug-drug interactions involving antiviral drugs, pharmacological characterisation and early-phase trials of novel COVID-19 antivirals. This post provides an exciting opportunity for an individual with relevant research experience who wishes to pursue a clinical academic career in infectious diseases, focussing on antimicrobial therapeutics.
You will have extensive experience in infection related disciplines and a demonstrated research interest in the therapeutics of viral and TB infection, aligning with research strengths in the Infection Pharmacology Group. You will demonstrate outstanding potential for development as a clinical academic. You will have completed or are soon to complete a PhD in a relevant area (to be fully awarded in order to take up the post). The post is available for 4 years or until CCT. Candidates must be able to take up the post before 30th June 2023. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place in January or February 2023 (date to be confirmed).
