Consultant in Medicine for Older People and Rehabilitation Medicine – Special Interest in Frailty

*Applications will be considered from General Internal Medicine (GIM) Consultants with a special interest and experience in Geriatric Medicine

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant to join a dynamic team within our Integrated Care and Community Division, as a Consultant for our Intermediate Care Services. This new post is a great opportunity for a clinician with vision and passion for integrated services to join us in a new and innovative position.

Applicants are invited from Geriatric Medicine Consultants or General Internal Medicine (GIM) Consultants with a special interest and experience in Geriatric Medicine. The final job plan is flexible and the post holder could join the Trust General Medical on-call consultant rota if they were interested in doing so.

Relocation expenses of up to £8,000 are available to the appointed candidate (following the policy).

The Division is currently also advertising for an Associate Medical Director (4 PAs).

Main Duties

It is a particularly exciting time to join our Trust due to a series of recent developments. Our Way Forward Programme is helping to expand and integrate all our urgent and emergency care services, along with a brand-new Urgent Treatment Centre. To continue the development of services, we have recently purchased a plot of land next to the hospital and have exciting plans for a state-of-the-art rehabilitation centre. We are also incredibly proud to have recently opened a new Radiotherapy Centre, in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, bringing treatment closer to home for thousands of patients.

Integrated Care and Community is a large and diverse Division consisting of Community Nursing, Virtual Ward, Therapy services, Urgent Care response, End of Life services, Outpatients, Cancer services and community beds. The community service received a CQC Good rating for both community and inpatient provision.
