We are inviting applications from clinicians with an interest and experience in oncology to apply for the CRUK Cambridge Cancer Centre funded Breast Programme Clinical Research Fellowship. The successful applicant will be embedded within the Precision Breast Cancer Institute (PBCI, previously the Cambridge Cancer Research Unit) and support the development and delivery of innovative clinical trials in patients with breast cancer, focusing strongly on early breast cancer, and related translational research projects.

The post is only open to medically qualified individuals, who have experience in oncology clinical work, and who have already been involved in the development and delivery of clinical or translational research, in collaboration with clinical academics and/or industry collaborators.

The successful individual will have a prominent role in the recruitment, treatment and care of patients with cancer, participating in the development and delivery of breast cancer clinical trials.  They will also have the opportunity to develop expertise in clinical trial design, interpretation and implementation of breast cancer genomics and its application to the clinical management of patients. Participation in research active outpatient clinics will also be expected.

A knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is expected, and other trial specific training will be provided.  There will also be the opportunity to attend trial design related training opportunities and to present clinical data at national and international meetings. There may be opportunities to contribute to research publications and to develop a project towards a higher degree. As part of the CRUK Cambridge Centre Breast Programme, there will be opportunities to engage with pre-clinical lab-based breast cancer research taking place in Cambridge.

The post will be held in the Precision Breast Cancer Institute, under the direction of Prof Jean Abraham (Professor in Precision Breast Cancer Medicine, Academic Honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology and Co-Lead of the CRUK Cambridge Centre Breast Programme) and based, with honorary clinical status, at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cancer Directorate and in the Oncology Department.
