Job Details
Interviews will be held on 19th May 2023.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant to join our Hepatology team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to have sub-speciality Hepatology accreditation, and to share their expertise in supporting and developing a forward-thinking service. They will join the existing 4 substantive Hepatologists in delivering high quality Hepatology care to the growing outpatient population and support in-patient management of patients with liver disease. A sub-speciality interest is preferable to complement the existing team.
UHCW has an established high quality Hepatology service supported by 2 specialist Hepatology Nurses, 2 viral hepatitis nurses, and 3 alcohol specialist nurses (soon to be 5, as a further 2 have just been appointed). We have a 5-day per week alcohol care team but are hoping to expand to a 7-day service in the future. We have a dedicated fast-track jaundice clinic run by specialist nurses and supported by the hepatology consultant body. At present we have a dedicated metabolic liver clinic, HCC and autoimmune liver clinics. There is a comprehensive GI bleed service, with interventional radiology and TIPPS service on site.
