- Temporary Full-Time and Part-Time positions from 6 February 2023 until 4 February 2024 .

An exciting opportunity is presented for an individual with a solid background and genuine interest in Geriatric Medicine. The positions are based at one of South Australia's leading Local Health Networks.
A multi-faceted role where you will gain a diverse range of experience, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to current department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Nurses and Allied Health professionals. Able to function effectively within a fast paced environment, you will maintain a high standard of patient care for inpatients and outpatients, and provide an effective and accurate clinical handover of patient care at the change of daily shifts and at the change of a clinical attachment. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to continuous quality improvement activities and education activities, participating in the department's CME, research and teaching program.
Registered with the Medical Board of Australia and having completed the FRACP written and clinical examinations or having completed the FRACP written exam and are eligible for provisional training you will bring appropriate post graduate experience. A team player who can operate effectively as part of a team or individually, you will demonstrate competency in a range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills. You will possess high level skills in negotiation and communication, exhibiting the ability to display genuine empathy for patients and their relatives and family. Able to work under pressure without compromising patient care, you will have proven skills in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level.
To be eligible for this position you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement under the Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Healthcare Setting Workers Vaccination) Directions 2022 No 7 to work in SA Health/health care setting.
