Looking to take part in research and innovation, service development or teaching within a Trust that prides itself on patient care, learning and development and rapid career progression? The Royal Devon is seeking to appoint 3 consultants to our department of gastroenterology and hepatology based at North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) in Barnstaple.

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust was established in April 2022, bringing together the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. The departments of gastroenterology and hepatology are now integrated providing core services to a population of 615,000 and specialist services to a wider population across the South West Peninsula. Consultants deliver face-to-face, and virtual care from both Barnstaple and Exeter sites.

Our gastroenterology department is friendly, successful and ambitious. The Royal Devon is committed to developing services in Barnstaple and wants to bring the very best clinicians to Devon. The Trust has an electronic patient record (EPIC), a multi-million-pound research facility, a significant development budget and big plans for the future. The Trust will support new consultants to develop innovative new services and to pursue research and teaching interests.
