CONSULTANT DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGIST

FULL TIME / 10PAs (Part Time Considered)

Ref: 134852

£91,474 - £121,548 per annum pro rata

Applications are invited for Consultant Radiologists to join the team based at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness on a 10 PA basis per week; however we would support applications for those wishing to work part time.  Some home working will also be available. Out of hours CT is entirely provided by teleradiology and there is currently no on-call commitment. There are longer term plans to introduce 7-day working with an expanded consultant workforce.

Posts are to support the general radiology needs for the department, but a wide range of specialist activities are provided within NHS Highland and specialist interests are encouraged. Interests in MSK, Breast, cardiothoracic and paediatric imaging would be especially welcome, however any other existing specialist interests will be considered. The interested applicant is encouraged to get in touch with the department to discuss further.

You will be working alongside dynamic and supportive clinical colleagues in radiology, nursing and a range of medical & surgical specialties. The hospitals in the Highlands are pleasant and friendly places to work.

With mountains, glens, lochs and moors in abundance, the Scottish Highlands offer the perfect environment for all manner of outdoor pursuits. Inverness is the Highland capital, and is steadily growing to provide a wide range of cultural and recreational attractions. Urban, costal or countryside living are all possible within easy distance of the hospital. Local schooling is of a high quality, and Gaelic Medium education available throughout.

Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register with a Licence to Practise or within six months of obtaining CCT in Radiology at time of interview.

We understand the constraints you can face when moving jobs, which is why we offer a substantial Relocation Package for new permanent members of the team.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the department prior to applying, with the costs of a preliminary visit being met by NHS Highland.

We would encourage applicants to contact the service to arrange a visit prior to short-listing/interview, if selected. For further information please contact: Jason Walker, Consultant Radiologist, Jason.walker3@nhs.scot  or Stephanie Adlinton, Radiology Service Manager, stephanie.adlinton@nhs.scot
