Job Details
We have two new Consultant Gastroenterologists posts based at Morriston Hospital. You would join the Gastroenterology Team who provide a service for the population of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
This is an opportunity to join a busy, dynamic multidisciplinary team to help us improve the Gastroenterology service that we provide to our population. An exciting opportunity where you can look forward to a warm welcome and a future full of opportunities here with us.
There are Gastroenterology wards are across two sites in the Health Board and we are working towards JAG accredited rooms in our endoscopy department.The Endoscopy Service is delivered by clinicians in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Upper & Lower GI Surgeons and two Clinical Endoscopists.
Main duties of the job
You must have a broad experience in the management of both Gastroenterology inpatients and Gastroenterology outpatients. You will need to be fully competent in all aspects of upper and lower GI endoscopy as well as management of GI bleeding.
You will be involved in the provision of designated lists per week (both inpatient and outpatient, emergency and non-emergency.
There will be opportunities to develop your interests further and you will have the chance to participate in ongoing research activity in the department as well as contribute to audit and development of guidelines.
You will be part of the on call rota.
