Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow
Salary: £56,502 - £79,927
Permanent, Part-time position working 0.6FTE

The University of Warwick is one of the UK's leading campus universities, in the top 100 universities in the world and top 10 in the UK (THE World University Rankings, 2022). Warwick Medical School is a collaboration between a globally recognised university and our local NHS partners, addressing present and future health needs through education and research. We run the largest graduate-entry medical programme in the UK, attracting highly motivated students from all educational backgrounds and producing excellent medical graduates. The MBChB degree is highly integrated, composed of blocks of system and clinical specialty based teaching and structured around case-based learning.

The profile of the post encompasses leadership for Advanced Cases 1 (AC1), the first 12 weeks of Year 2, as well as to support and deputise for the Phase II academic lead in the role as deputy lead. The appointment is indefinite as Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow with the AC1 remit being three year renewable.

The post holder will also support the MB ChB Theme Leads in developing clinical aspects of their themes as well as contribute to other MB ChB departmental activities to improve and develop the curriculum and teaching on the MB ChB.

A programme of personal and professional development will be agreed with successful candidate which will include completion of appropriate leadership and education programmes and mentorship by an experienced clinical educator. If an appropriate Masters Degree in Medical Education is not held at the time of appointment the successful candidate will be funded for modules leading to the Warwick MMedEd whilst in post.

It is expected that the post holder will undertake clinical work with a local NHS education Provider (LEP) or WMS affiliated general practice or similar. Support will be given to applicants from outside the area to explore available options. Candidates are encouraged to discuss the post with Professor Olanrewaju Sorinola (olanrewaju.sorinola@warwick.ac.uk), Academic Lead for Phase II (MBCHB).
