Come and join the supportive and friendly Ophthalmology team at Southport & Ormskirk NHS Trust.
Due to upcoming retirements, we are looking to appoint 3 x permanent, innovative and high performing Specialty Doctors, with independent outpatient clinic practice across a range of sub-specialties including but not limited to Glaucoma, Oculoplastic, Emergency, Cataract and General Ophthalmology.
Main duties of the job
Our on-call service is under review; currently on-call duties are non-residential,17:00 to 21:00 during weekdays and 09:00 to 21:00 at the weekend, on a 1:7 basis.
There will be opportunity to engage in management such as, patient safety and clinical government, teaching, training of staff, risk management, audit.
Flexible working arrangements may be considered for these posts.
Our outpatient clinics take place at both Southport DGH and Ormskirk DGH and are situated within the main hospital buildings in dedicated specialised units. The Ophthalmology service has a well-equipped outpatient department, which runs general ophthalmology and emergency clinics as well as specialist clinics including paediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma, and oculoplastic. The Trust has recently successfully implemented a virtual glaucoma service.
