Locum Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with special interest in Head & Neck Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery
This post has been created to compliment and strengthen the existing team of surgeons working within the Head & Neck Cancer service at University Hospitals of Coventry & Warwickshire and we are seeking an enthusiastic colleague to join the team. The successful applicant must be committed to working flexibly within the team and will be expected to participate in the microvascular reconstructive service.
Main duties of the job
The applicant will be expected to devote most of his time to the management of patients with head & neck malignancy.
Head and Neck Cancer services is supported by the departments of ENT and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery but has it's own management and governance structure and Clinical Lead. The head and neck team currently comprise four ENT and three maxillofacial surgeons who work closely and within an integrated team sharing junior staff and secretarial support. This is an additional post to support the team.
Applicants should have an appropriate CCST or be on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register. Those who are within three months of obtaining their CCST on the date of the AAC may also apply.
There is a 1 in 6 on-call commitment tied to this post, supporting the Oral & Maxillofacial Consultant rota, which will be included in an agreed job plan. This activity holds a percentage supplement on top of basic salary.
