We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Maxillofacial Specialty Doctor.
As part of the Health Board's strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University's process for granting honorary titlesand help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health.
Main duties of the job
The major workload of the department is head and neck cancer with microvascular reconstruction, the management of skin cancer and both benign and malignant salivary gland disease. All other areas of maxillofacial surgery are also provided including orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, implantology and temporomandibular joint replacement. In addition there is a comprehensive maxillofacial trauma service.

It is responsible for the operation of three district general hospitals (Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd near Rhyl, and Wrexham Maelor Hospital) as well as 22 other acute and community hospitals, and a network of over 90 health centres, clinics, community health team bases and mental health units. It also coordinates the work of 121 GP practices and NHS services provided by North Wales dentists, opticians and pharmacies.

- Shall have completed 4 years full time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) since first obtaining registration, including adequate experience in the specialty; or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
