Job Details
The main role will be undertaking lipid clinics and helping to conduct day ward and laboratory work. There are no on call commitments. This opportunity would suit a full time or 0.8 WTE
Main duties of the job
The Trust Grade Doctor will, during his/her contracted hours, perform such duties as may be delegated by the Senior Medical Staff in Chemical Pathology.

There are very close links with the University of Leicester.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- Attending the outpatient Lipid Clinic (Friday morning and afternoon at Glenfield Hospital) and undertaking duties to support the Consultant.
- Contribution to the running of the Lipid Virtual Clinic in line with service needs (at least 2 sessions per week) is also.
- Attending the Day Ward (Thursday morning at Leicester General Hospital) where our dynamic function tests are performed.
- Acting as Duty Biochemist (at least one day per week at Leicester Royal Infirmary) and helping in the laboratory in method validation and other relevant areas.
- Liaising with the ward Medical Staff and following up cases of biochemical interest under the guidance of one of the Consultants.
- Research opportunities leading to high impact papers are available in line with the post holders timetable.
