About the role

You will be a high calibre clinician/scientist (Ophthalmology), possessing full GMC registration and a licence to practice. 

You will have a research profile of well-established national/international standing, be expected to be a significant research income generator and supervise a team of clinical and non-clinical postgraduate and undergraduate researchers.  There are opportunities for those with a specific interest in clinical genetics to undertake work with the Trust’s clinical genetics team.

You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and clinicians who have been brought together in the Ulverscroft Eye Unit, within the School of Psychology & Vision Sciences, to develop a programme of high quality research directed at ophthalmology and ocular genetics. The group has a national and international reputation in translational and clinical research.

In addition to five academic programmed activities, you will also deliver five programmed activities delivering consultant clinical service at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
