We currently have x1 locum neurologist consultant post available.

The post is based on 10 programmed activities per week.

Walsall Healthcare currently provides general and specialist neurology services on an outpatient basis and to inpatients admitted for elective and none elective clinical conditions who require clinical support for their neurological conditions. The clinicians are supported by a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will:

  • Work alongside acute surgeons and physicians giving advice and support for patients who are elective and none elective admissions with a primary or secondary neurological condition
  • Undertaking regular ward reviews as appropriate and supporting in the Acute Medical Unit and ED to ensure patients are managed effectively in respect of their neurological condition, which may include liaison or referral to our partner hub organisation or discharged appropriately to support BPT initiatives or reduce the risk of increasing LOS.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

  • Medical degree, ie MBBS or equivalent
  • Full MRCP or equivalent
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent by date of interview

Professional Registration
Essential

  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
  • Eligible for inclusion on the GMC's Specialist Register (or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview)
