Clinical Oncologist in Bermuda

Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre (www.chc.bm) welcomes applicants for the position of Clinical Oncologist.  This position is at Bermuda’s ONLY Radiation Therapy Unit, which has a radiation alliance with Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center in Boston.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Meet standards for optimal medical judgment and clinical care
• Ensure standards for technical skills and procedures considered essential for radiation oncology care are met or exceeded
• Communicate, counsel, and educate patients, families, and caregivers with caring and respectful behaviour
• Facilitate the development of clinical decision-making based on available clinical information and current literature-based evidence, when available
• Ability to teach clinical skills to the team 
• Recognize potentially dangerous situations and deal with them appropriately
• Administrative and managerial responsibility, as required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years post specialist registration experience in Clinical Oncology
• BLS 
• Meet or exceed Continuing Medical Education requirements
• Demonstrate an investigatory and analytic approach to clinical situations

Skills:

• Demonstrate and apply knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate (e.g., epidemiological, and social-behavioural) sciences
• Maintain conduct as a role model for professionalism including integrity, honesty, respect, communication, and a strong work ethic
• Excellent interpersonal skills 
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
