Humber Neurology Trust Grade Post – Fixed Term (up to six months) An opportunity has arisen in the department of Neurology for a Trust Grade Registrar level post for Neurology. The post is integral in delivering outpatient and inpatient care in a busy department for the Humber Neurology Service as part of new collaborative working between Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust to drive forward a comprehensive and transformational Neurological Service for the East Yorkshire and Humber region. Neuroscience services in Hull have developed rapidly over the last few years and there is an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and transformation. Hull is a busy regional Neuroscience centre with Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, Neurophysiology, Stroke and Rehabilitation departments with access to psychological services. You will join a team of 8 Consultant Neurologists, 3 speciality doctors, each having a specialist area of interest and 20 neurology specialist nurses across the Humber localities. Services are based predominantly at Hull Royal Infirmary and across Grimsby and Scunthorpe hospitals.
Main duties of the job
The timetable will be formalised by Dr Gooriah, Clinical Lead or Dr Ming, Clinical Director 4.4.1 There is a 1:6 on-call commitment with this post. Audit is well supported by the department. 4.4.2 So far as is consistent with regular duties, the post holder undertakes to deputise from time to time for absent colleagues. 4.4.3 The post holder undertakes, exceptionally, to be available for such irregular commitments outside normally rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care and, therefore, may be required, in exceptional circumstances, to perform additional duties. 4.4.4 The post holder will be subject to review to assess progress (including the relevant professional development activities undertaken). A Consultant Neurologist has been allocated to supervise the post holder and also have responsibility for education and career developments. Study leave will be in accordance with the terms and conditions for medical staff. 4.4.5 Access to office facilities, secretarial support and IT facilities will be available. 4.4.6 Audit/Teaching. Audit is well supported by the department. The LAS will be involved in audit activities undertaken within the Neurology Department and play an active role in the evaluation of new treatment modalities introduced.
