Right now we are building our future

The Midland Metropolitan University Hospital Opening soon and we you to join our team!

We are seeking to recruit 4 enthusiastic, innovative, driven Acute Physicians to join our team of dedicated Acute Consultants Team to drive quality improvement and contribute to the implementation of the new Acute Care Model being developed for the move into our new Acute Hospital The Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in 2024.

Main duties of the job

At present we have two Acute Medical Units with a total base of 89 beds across our City Hospital and Sandwell General Hospital sites. Our Acute Medical Unit at Sandwell is supported by our dedicated Short Stay Medical Unit (AMSUU), with 20 beds to support patients who require less than 72 hours stay within an acute setting. We are currently exploring plans to replicate this at City Hospital.

About us

We have recently undertaken a relaunch of our Same Day Emergency Care Units (SDEC) across both sites. At City hospital, we have moved adjacent to our AMU to develop interdepartmental relationships. We are looking to expand further to increase capacity to 12 trollies, alongside dedicated triage and initial assessment as part of our pre-MMUH model. At Sandwell, the Trust has committed to 2.5million investment to enhance the current SDEC facilities which will be collocated next to our Emergency Department, which will support the Trusts vision to move towards an Integrated Streaming Model.
