The Rheumatology Department is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative consultant rheumatologist to replace a retiring colleague on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. You will join a consultant led team who are supported by a wider MDT including experienced nurse specialists, a GP trainee, OT, Physiotherapy and MSK radiologists. We work closely with colleagues based at the other main trust site in York.
The Rheumatology Department is well respected clinically and actively involved in research and undergraduate education through the Hull York Medical School. The Department is part of the Yorkshire Rheumatology Network and there are well established links with the Tertiary centre in Leeds. We pride ourselves in team working, having departmental radiology,
rheumatology and vasculitis MDTs with all sub-specialties represented across trust sites.
Scarborough Hospital is currently undergoing a £47M upgrade which will provide a new A&E department as well as a multifunction clinical space that enables the delivery of our innovative Acute Medical Model (AMM); a pioneering new approach to the delivery of urgent and emergency care. Our Hospital is set in the heart of a historic seaside town on the beautiful Yorkshire Coast. Scarborough was the country’s first seaside resort, and remains amongst the UK’s favourite and popular locations. We are on the
edge of the North York Moors National Park and have excellent
opportunities for outdoor activities, both on the water, on our beaches and inland. The town is well connected to the road and rail network with London being less than 3 hours away by train.
