WOMEN'S AND CHILDREN'S DIVISION

Newham University Hospital, London

Applications from experienced, enthusiastic, and dynamic Consultant Paediatricians are invited to apply for this position, based at Newham University Hospital (NUH). The successful candidate will work in the Women and Children's division at NUH which is part of Barts Health NHS Trust; one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK.

This is a substantive full-time position, for a maximum of ten programmed activities [10 PAs].

The successful candidate will join an established team of 5 Pediatricians, participate and lead on developing the Children's strategy at Newham, as well as complement all departmental services. The post holder will be supported by a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, consultant colleagues and provided secretarial support.

Main duties of the job

The department works collaboratively with the other 3sites within the Trust as well as with the Paediatric network. There is scope for further collaborative working with GPs in the community.

To be considered for the post, you must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of achieving a CCT (or equivalent) at the date of interview, experience in other subspecialties will also be beneficial. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage their workload in an organised manner as well as work well under pressure.

The Trust employs over 9,500 multidisciplinary staff across five hospital sites, making it one of the largest Trusts in the UK. Acute general hospital services are provided for the population who live in the North East of London.
