Applications are invited for a substantive full time post as a Consultant General Paediatrician at University Hospitals Birmingham. This is a newly created post to support increased clinical activity in acute paediatrics and outpatients. The appointee will join the existing body of Consultant paediatricians. Applicants should be able to provide clinical support and leadership in General paediatrics and neonates. We welcome applicants with training and experience of any paediatric subspecialty that will complement our existing group of consultants.
Working in Paediatric directorate at University Hospitals of Birmingham provides excellent environment to practice your acquired knowledge and skills to deliver high quality clinical care for children of all ages. The appointee will be required to work across all sites (Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals) although the main duties including out of hours on calls will be at Good Hope Hospital. The acute Paediatric care is provided at Good Hope Hospital and Heartlands Hospital with outpatient care at all 3 sites. Good Hope Hospital has a level 1 neonatal unit and the post holder is expected to provide senior clinical support during service week and on-calls.
The post holder will be expected to provide teaching and training to medical students and junior doctors. The trust actively supports quality improvement work and has an active research department.
