About us
We are one of only two nationally commissioned hospitals in the country offering surgical treatment for patients with pseudomyxoma and peritoneal metastases of colorectal origin. We provide cytoreductive surgery with heated intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for appendix tumours, pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) and colorectal cancer.
In 2007 we installed the first Da Vinci operating robot in the North West and in 2015 expanded our robotic program with the purchase of 2 Da Vinci Si robots to replace the original. We currently robotically treat prostate, renal (partial nephrectomy), rectal, gynae and uterine cancers, as well as selected joint operations for complex cases.
The department consists of two inpatient wards (38 beds), an Oncology Critical Care Unit, 5 operating theatres, and the Integrated Procedures Unit.
