Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board are recruiting a Consultant in adult Psychiatry serving the North Bridgend area. It is a ten session job consisting of sessions for CMHT and Outpatient clinics.

This is an established Consultant Psychiatrist post working within the Bridgend North CMHT, covering a population of 55,000 between 18 and 65 years (approximately), with 200 patients currently being care coordinated by the CMHT. The CMHT is positioned in Secondary Care and has a pivotal role in directly delivering specialist community mental health services, but also an interface with Primary care, Unscheduled Care and Specialist and Regional Services such as Perinatal Mental Health, Eating Disorders, Early Intervention for Psychosis and Rehabilitation Services.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the role is to provide a clinical service for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness. The role will include the provision of clinical expertise and leadership to the multidisciplinary teams, and supervision for the Speciality Doctor and core trainee.

The post holder will find themselves well supported, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and collaborative working. They will be managed by the Clinical Director, but also benefit from day-to-day support from other members of the management team.

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • S.12(2) approval or be in a position to achieve that
  • Approved Clinician approval or be in the position to achieve that
  • At least 3 years experience after core training in psychiatry, preferably Adult Psychiatry

Desirable

  • Welsh Approved Clinician approval

Experience
Essential

  • Comprehensive training and experience in psychiatry
