Job Details

Clinical fellow in Gastrointestinal Imaging

This post is not a deanery training post and candidates will need to have obtained a CCT prior to starting the post.

Minimum 4 years of core radiology training experience in a UK recognized training scheme.

Previous experience in gastrointestinal imaging and research will be expected and prior CTC training would be an advantage.

Full GMC registration & Up to date licence to practice

Eligible to work in the UK

MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification

Main duties of the job

Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research

Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good

Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council

Demonstrates interest and realistic insight into clinical radiology, with an understanding of the role of the consultant radiologist in the modern NHS and an understanding of the structure of training in the UK

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrates drive and initiative (leadership)

Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management

Job responsibilities

The Clinical Fellow in Gastrointestinal Radiology will be based at predominantly at St Marks Hospital, but the post holder will also be expected to work in the Northwick Park Hospital occasionally to support a comprehensive imaging service across the LNWUH sites.

The post holder will spend their time participating in all areas of lower Gastrointestinal imaging activity within the Department of Radiology, with a unique opportunity to attend the complex cancer imaging MDT associated with a multidisciplinary clinic, in addition to the standard GI MDT meetings. They will also be expected to join the NPH registrar on-call rota.

  • Reasonable manual dexterity with good hand-eye coordination
