Are you looking for an exciting challenge working in a dynamic team developing quality Medical Services?Following success in developing our physician associate (PA) employment programme in recent years, Withybush Hospital is expanding our PA employment opportunities. We are pleased to offer permanent roles in:? ED? Acute Medicine (ACDU / SDEC)? Ward 7 (Gastroenterology / General Medicine with participation in the abdominal paracentesis service)? Frailty (with additional sessions in osteoporosis outpatient service).

Main duties of the job

Band 7 Physicians Associates have been working as an important part of the medical teams over the past 2 years within the Care of the Elderly ward, Front Door Frailty team and ED. Our organisation sees the potential to expand the physician associate workforce to support Unscheduled Care and Scheduled Care departments.The post will include weekend working and extended hours but no nights. There will be continued professional development opportunities with an active education programme locally including grand round and teaching across the chosen specialties. Physician Associates are encouraged to participate in quality improvement and service development projects and present their work locally and further afield. Opportunities to develop teaching skills are actively encouraged.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. Four main hospitals: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
