Area: Institute of Life Couse and Medical Sciences, School of Medicine 

Location: University campus / home (hybrid working)

Salary: Commensurate with existing salary (basic)

Working Hours: 0.2 fte (2PA)          

Tenure: 3 years in the first instance

Applications are invited from experienced Clinicians / Clinical Academics / Academics with experience of clinical education who have a particular interest in developing and leading the Theme Lead – Professionalism, Ethics and Legal Context within the School of Medicine. Your expertise in the area related to the theme will be used to develop, organise and deliver content, related to the theme throughout the MBChB curriculum. You will be an important contributor to the team leading the development of the MBChB curriculum.

Theme Lead posts have been designed as an opportunity for individuals to lead the coordination of the curriculum themes across all 5 years. You will work with a team of academic and support staff to design, implement and quality assure the curriculum. You will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects in medical education, in line with the strategic research interests of the School. 

You will bring knowledge and experience of a clinical or academic field relevant to this area, understanding and experience of the application of a variety of teaching methods and settings and the construction of assessment, together with expertise in working with others to deliver effective education and inspire engagement in education-related work.

The post is available in the first instance for a tenure of 3 years. This may be renewed for a further period, dependent upon successful integration of the post into the needs of the curriculum, and satisfactory annual review.
