General Practitioner (GP) – Northland, New Zealand

With our stunning natural landscape, enviable climate and welcoming communities, it’s no wonder that Northland is one of Aotearoa / New Zealand’s fastest growing regions. GPs across our district are proud to deliver quality healthcare to our people; working together to improve the health outcomes of Northland’s diverse and sometimes vulnerable population.

Following significant population growth in recent years, GPs are in demand here in Northland. Whether it’s an urban or rural setting, and a preference for permanent, fixed-term or locum work – the choice is yours. Recent changes to Immigration settings may also mean you could be fast-tracked for Residency while working with us as a GP.

Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokerau (Health New Zealand – Northland) takes an active role in supporting our primary care family. We invite you to apply for a role, and allow us to guide and connect you with a recruiting practice that aligns with your preferences. We will also connect you with GP advocates who can offer advice and support with your decision now, and also when you arrive here at your new home. A supportive network of colleagues, advocates and faculty also await your contact. Apply now by supplying a copy of your resume, and cover letter outlining your roles preferences.

To be considered you must have or be eligible for general or vocational registration with the MCNZ in a General Practice scope of practice. For more information about the MCNZ registration process please visit

Your new life in Northland awaits. Get in touch, we’d love to chat.
