This post is for an ambitious person who, as well as being clinically qualified in old age psychiatry, has an established or growing reputation in old age psychiatry research to work in Department of Mental Health of Older People within the Division of Psychiatry in UCL as well as working four sessions clinically in the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust Memory and Dementia Navigator Service.

The post-holder will collaborate closely with colleagues to generate a programme of research in areas related to old age psychiatry and will teach in the division. Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and of teaching large and small groups is essential, in addition to the ability to take on full responsibility for independent management of patients and running a service.

The successful applicant will be on or be eligible for inclusion on the GMC specialist register for old age psychiatry. Preference will age psychiatry given to clinical academics who have a strong track record in combining clinical and scientific research.
