Specialist Grade Doctor

Central Wandsworth and West Battersea CMHT

 10Pas (8 pas DCC and 2ps SPA)

8k Relocation Package available*

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Grade Psychiatrist to work in the Central Wandsworth and West Battersea CMHT based at Springfield Hospital, London SW17.

We are a dynamic, financially stable mental health trust which has consistently been rated ‘good’ by the CQC. We’re small enough to be a friendly Trust, but big enough to have internationally-recognised, innovative and ground-breaking services. We have an integrated academic programme, an established quality improvement programme, and good links with our local universities. We’re widely known for the quality of our training, for treating everyone as individuals, and for supporting consultants to develop external roles and special interests. We’re in a beautiful, leafy part of one of the world’s greatest capital cities and are currently spending over £150 million rebuilding our main hospitals – it’s an exciting time to join!

Central Wandsworth and West Battersea CMHT works alongside three other Wandsworth CMHTs, with care provided according to GP alignment. The post sits within a well-established MDT that works alongside a separate Consultant-led Assessment team and interfaces with a Consultant-led Home Treatment Team and in-patient wards. There are also specialist teams for Early Intervention in Psychosis and Personality Disorder.

The post-holder will work alongside a full-time consultant and will be responsible for providing high quality psychiatric care to patients under the care of the team, contribute to the training of core and higher psychiatry trainees along side the Consultant as lead, and will also contribute to the teaching of St George’s University of London Medical Students. They will work closely with a Team manager, an advanced clinical practitioner, and a dedicated Clinical Service Manager for the Borough. Supervisory support is available from the Team Consultant and Associate Clinical Director. Successful candidates who are looking to progress their career towards consultant will be supported to progress via the CESR route.

Springfield Hospital is undergoing a major estates modernisation to provide services within brand new buildings; its within easy walking distance of both Tooting Bec underground station and Earlsfield mainline station providing fast connections to Waterloo. There is also car parking on site.

Up to £8,000 relocation package available *terms and conditions apply*
