The post-holder will provide, in collaboration with two full-time consultant psychiatrists, a service for the assessment, diagnosis and management of mental illness in patients over 65 years and all adults with dementia or suspected dementia.

The post holder will provide an Old Age Psychiatry Service to the population of West Tyrone and Fermanagh catchment areas

There will be community and inpatient duties included in the role involving occasional input into the management of acute mental health patients and dementia patients in Oak villa and Ash Villa in the Tyrone and Fermanagh hospital. The post holder will also have a role in assessing patients referred to the Psychiatric Liaison Service for Older People from South West Acute hospital in Enniskillen and Omagh hospital in collaboration with the Consultant Psychiatrist and the Liaison Nurse.
