A great opportunity has come up for an Older Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work in Jersey’s Health and Community Services. This is filling a vacancy created by retirement.

We have received significant investment in our inpatient services with improvement of our offer for patients and there will be a newly refurbished ward from late 2022. Staffing ratios and bed occupancy rates are really favourable compared with the UK.

This role also has a community component within the Community Mental Health Service. Again there is significant ongoing investment in community services including a new all age assessment, crisis and home treatment service to support the community team. Caseload numbers and staffing are again very manageable compared with the UK.

Members of our team are experienced and supportive.

It is a really great time to come to Jersey. We are currently in the middle of the comprehensive programme to transform health and social care, including a new hospital project. Jersey is a prosperous island with much closer interaction with political processes than the UK which creates unique potential to shape how we deliver health care.
