St Luke’s cares for people aged 18 and above throughout Sheffield who have terminal illnesses. We aim to control their symptoms, alleviate pain, and give them the best possible quality of life – all without charge to our patients. Working for St Luke’s offers a real opportunity to make a difference.

We are looking to appoint a Consultant who will contribute to the development and implementation of our key objectives to deliver services that enable the best possible palliative care in Sheffield, promoting optimum patient and family care, ensuring efficient use of resources and promoting a culture that is progressive and inclusive.

This is a newly created post, which is ideally suited to an established consultant with the vision and intent to be a leader in the specialty and hospice sector; but an exceptional newly accredited physician with evident potential and enthusiasm for personal development, and clinical leadership will be welcome to apply. Flexibility will therefore be built into the post and its responsibilities to accommodate the skills and aspirations of the right candidate.

With established skills in multidisciplinary team working, you will join the senior clinical team in our dynamic Integrated Community Service contributing to St Luke’s consultants’ frontline duties. You will be liaising with hospital services and supporting GP’s and primary care in clinical management and patient flows between settings.

The employment contract arrangements for this role will be in line with BMA guidelines and you will be employed directly by the hospice with access to the NHS Pension Scheme or our workplace (Scottish Widows) pension scheme.

This post will be subject to a DBS disclosure check.

You are invited to speak with the Recruitment Coordinator, Debbie Storey who will be pleased to discuss the post with you, and will be happy to show you around and arrange an opportunity for discussion with the existing Consultants. Please call 0114 2357541 to arrange a convenient time. Alternatively, you can view the job description and person specification on our website www.stlukeshospice.org.uk.

To apply CVs should be emailed by clicking the Apply button or posted to Human Resources Department, St Luke’s, Little Common Lane, Sheffield, S11 9NE.
