Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow (Core) within the department of Clinical Pharmacology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This post is available from as soon as possible for a period of two years.

Main duties of the job

This post will be of interest to medical trainees who would like to develop skills in clinical research and clinical trials. Trainees in Respiratory Medicine, or candidates with an interest in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine would be well suited to the post since it will involve primarily working on a large phase IV clinical trial in COPD.

There are extensive opportunities for teaching in the post and training in a broad range of research skills, working closely with the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit and other researchers within the Division of Experimental Medicine and Immunotherapeutics.  The applicant will be encouraged to spend at least one session a week in clinical service within Clinical Pharmacology or a designated medical speciality such as Respiratory, by agreement.

In order to be considered applicants will have ideally completed MRCP or equivalent.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.

Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
