The role of the Clinical Education Fellow in Undergraduate Medical Education and Rheumatology is to support delivery of undergraduate teaching for students from Warwick Medical School and the clinical work of the Rheumatology Unit. The clinical education fellows' time is 50% education and 50% clinical.
Main duties of the job
The clinical education fellow will support delivery of undergraduate teaching for students from Warwick Medical School and also the clinical work in Rheumatology.
Although not recognised for training, the post-holder with have opportunities to complete a module of the Masters in Medical Education at Warwick University, examiner and OSCE training.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Educationally the CEF will take part in delivery of the undergraduate curriculum including the Clinical Skills course, bedside teaching, tutorials, teaching clinics and student assessment.
The CEF will be expected to work 5 sessions within education, 1 of which will be educational administration time and 5 sessions within Rheumatology 1 of which will be for clinical administration.
Secretarial support and shared office accommodation will be provided together with full access to ICT systems at George Eliot. Teaching commitments (postgraduate and undergraduate) will mostly take place within the George Eliot Hospital and the George Eliot Training and Education Centre (GETEC) although there is also a requirement to travel occasionally to The University of Warwick Medical School for marking, exams etc.

Essential
- Broad clinical experience within Rheumatology
- Thorough and detailed knowledge of medical audit, medical education, current clinical and medical best practice
- Understanding of the Clinical Governance process
- Awareness of health service reforms and issues across all healthcare economy
- Experienced in demonstrating clinical procedures/techniques to other healthcare professionals
- Undertaken complete audit cycle
- Participated in completed clinical research projects
Desirable
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the NHS
- Experience of service development
- Understanding of the concepts of management
Qualifications and Professional Training

- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCP
