Waitemata District Health Board (WDHB) is looking for two motivated and skilled dual trained Respiratory and General Medicine Senior Medical Officers (SMO) to join our progressive and positive team. We provide Respiratory care to a large and culturally diverse population of over 630,000 people in Auckland, New Zealand.

Our dedicated, supportive team work across two hospitals in the North and West of Auckland in collaboration with other departments to provide a high quality, innovative service. 

The Waitematā DHB Respiratory Service is in an exciting phase of further development. We are looking for talented physicians who are keen to expand their experience working with a passionate multidisciplinary team. We also work closely with other DHB respiratory services across Metro Auckland.

You will contribute to the largest General Medicine service in New Zealand working alongside collaborative and helpful colleagues to provide coordinated and specialised acute medicine and ward based care with a 1:6 after hour’s roster.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified dual trained Respiratory Physicians. Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the New Zealand Association of Salaried Medical Specialists’ collective agreement. Recently trained or experienced candidates are welcome.
