GP VACANCIES (job shares considered) An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, patient-centered independent practice (approximately 10,000 patients) close to the Jurassic Coast and with beautiful surrounding countryside. We are a high achieving training practice based in Yeovil town centre and working from purpose-built premises. Yeovil is known for its helicopters and football team, the town is nestled between chocolate box villages, with a green oasis at its heart in ‘Ninesprings’, plus ‘Ham Hill’ country park is a stone’s throw away. The trend spots of Glastonbury and Bruton are nearby and across the border into Dorset are Sherborne, Dorchester, and the World Heritage Jurassic coast. Whilst committed to a high standard of general practice with continuity of care through personal lists, the practice is also forward thinking and is closely engaged with the other Yeovil practices as part of the Yeovil Primary Care Network. We take an active role in the mutually supportive PCN which is a vanguard in collaborative working. All clinical team members take a shared part in extended hours duties, but the collaborative network results in a limited and manageable workload We see teamwork and quality of life as important attributes of the practice, with daily pre-clinic huddles and morning coffee each day as well as more formal weekly practice or clinical meetings. Ongoing development is important to us, so this is encouraged and supported by a regular monthly half-day closure for team training. There is a focus on shared internal workload for admin tasks and an open-door policy amongst all doctors. The clinical team are supported by three nurse practitioners, a seven-strong nursing team, prescription management team, and an experienced group of medical secretaries as well as a full complement of support staff including health coaches. We enjoy informal chats - both work and non-work related - and prioritise family life. We are realistic in our expectations and none of us expect to be superman/woman, we aim to finish work at an acceptable hour! The practice is looking for an enthusiastic and committed salaried GP who shares our ethos of high-quality family-based personal care and join our long established and happy practice. We welcome applicants looking for a variety of sessions and we welcome applications from those interested in a job-share. The practice uses an on-the-day triage tool (askmyGP) to manage acute demand and offer 15 minute virtual and face-to-face appointments. The preferred starting date is late August 2022 but there is flexibility around this. Informal enquiries are welcome, and visits can be arranged with our Practice Manager. The practice holds Skilled Worker visa accreditation. Applications are invited with a CV and a covering letter, for the attention of the Practice Manager: Brian Matthews via the Apply Now button or click the Reveal Telephone Number for informal chats and practice visits from potential candidates are also welcomed.
