Applications are invited for the above post to join our Cardiac surgery team. The successful candidate will join the existing team of 5 consultants. Main duties of the job
We are seeking a colleague who has been specifically trained in Adult Cardiac Surgery, who will complement the existing service. Other than the weekly surgical activity, the aim of this job is to also have a prominent role in the perioperative management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery, focusing in ameliorating clinical outcomes, reducing complication rates and improve the perioperative patient care. To provide a single and solid point of contact for primary and secondary care to ensure the individual needs of cardiac is the goal of the present post along with the need for surgical patients to be carefully coordinated from the time of contemplation of surgery to a period of many months following the operation (SCTS Toolkit at https://scts.org/ [scts.org]). For this purpose, specific PA will be offered.
