The Public Health Agency is seeking to recruit 2 x permanent

HP Consultants, 2 x Temporary Staff Grade Speciality Drs, 1 x Temporary Locum HP Consultant, to support the work of the Health Protection Service

The Public Health Directorate is one of three directorates within the Public Health Agency created through the Review of Public Administration. The other Directorates are Nursing and Allied Health Professions and Operations. Within the Public Health Directorate there are four divisions; health improvement, research and development, health protection and service development and screening. Each division is lead by an assistant director, with the exception of service development and screening which has an assistant director for screening and professional standards and an assistant director for service development, safety and quality.

Working in a challenging environment of multiple and challenging demands will require the post holder to have an ability to work effectively across organisations and possess skills in negotiation, diplomacy and the application of intellectual rigor.

All the Health Protection Consultant/Specialist posts are available on a full-time basis (although individuals offering WTE 0.7 or more will be considered).

The Staff Grade Specialty Drs posts are temporary for up to 2 years (each post is available for WTE: 0.75 / 30hrs).

All Locum posts are for 6 months in the first instance with possible extension.

To support work within the Health Protection service; the posts are open to appropriately qualified medical and non-medical applicants.
Health Protection Posts:

The successful applicants will play a key role in the PHA’s Health Protection Service which has a front line role in protecting the Northern Ireland population from infectious diseases and environmental hazards through a range of core functions such as surveillance and monitoring, operational support and advice, response to health protection incidents, education, training and research.

All posts are open to appropriately qualified medical/ non-medical specialist applicants.
