An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Clinical Immunologist to join our forward-thinking Clinical Immunology service in NHS Tayside.

The successful applicant will join and established Specialist Nurse teams in developing the range and depth of Immunology services we offer.  At present our services include.

  • Dedicated Immunodeficiency and Allergy outpatient clinics Nurse-led delivery of home therapy service for immunoglobulin replacement therapy and C1 esterase inhibitor deficiency treatments A peri-operative anaphylaxis service Drug desensitisation /drug allergy de-labelling service Food challenge service Venom/aeroallergen immunotherapy Omalizumab immunotherapy for CSUA

Current foci of clinical service evolution include, but are not limited to,

  • Increased patient access from other NHS Boards to specialist services in immunodeficiency and allergy Creation of advanced nurse practitioner posts in immunology and allergy Maintenance of QPIDS accreditation (first service in Scotland to be awarded) Multi-specialty penicillin allergy de-labelling service

This post is full time and has no out of hours commitment. Successful candidates will not have responsibility for directing the Immunology Laboratory service

Ninewells hospital is the main teaching environment for medical students from the University of Dundee, and as such there will be the expectation and opportunity for the development and delivery of both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to develop their research interests and participate also in pharmaceutical drug trials.

Candidates should possess MRCP(UK) or equivalent and be on the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Immunology or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview or already in possession of CESR
