An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation

The post is based within Lyndon CMHT, which covers a registered GP working adult population. The post holder will provide clinical leadership to a Community Mental Health Team and work alongside the Ward/Team Manager to achieve staff and service developments and meet key trust targets.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist covering the Shirley population (who also operates from Lyndon Clinic) developing joint strategies for local service provision and the two Consultants will cross cover for leave.

There will be ample opportunity to develop personally and professionally, with full access to clinical and managerial supervision which will assist you in developing your personal development plan.

You are required to have relevant post experience within the speciality and demonstrate potential leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to develop the team using research based initiatives.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
Essential

  • Recognised basic Medical Degree
  • MRCPsych or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration and a licence to practise
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register
  • CCT in General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months at time of interview) or equivalent
  • Eligibility for approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act & Approved Clinician status

Desirable

  • Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD, PHD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
  • Section 12 Approval MHA and Approved Clinician status already held

Experience
Essential

  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in acute & community psychiatric settings
  • Experience of providing psychological and/or social interventions
  • Knowledge and evidence of participation in CPD
  • Evidence of effective multidisciplinary team involvement

Desirable

  • Experience in Brief Psychological Therapies
  • Broad experience in Risk Management
  • Experience of contributing to or completion of a service improvement project
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement in service delivery
