Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry

We are delighted to seek applications for our Acute and Urgent Care Directorate for a Consultant Psychiatrist.

You will be predominantly based at Harplands Hospital in Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent located within close proximity to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and Keele University Medical School with whom the Trust has close links supporting Academic Programmes, Research and Development.

The role will consist of 10 PAs as a Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatry, and you will engage with the development of your Job Plan.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake Responsible Clinician responsibilities with the support of a Consultant Nurse to provide expert assessment, investigation and management of high quality person-centred treatment plans and discharge planning. You will understand and comply with and promote the requirements of relevant legal considerations within an evidence-based framework. You will also be supported by trainees and have the opportunity to participate in the supervision and support of the higher trainee programme. We have introduced the Acute Care Model of working across our adult inpatient pathway with demonstrable improvements in length staff recruitment and retention.
