Based at Jersey General Hospital

Jersey General Hospital is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic substantive Consultant in General Medicine and Rheumatology.  

The successful candidate will work alongside an existing consultant in General Medicine with an interest in Rheumatology and the principle duties and responsibilities are:

•    Provide OPD services in Rheumatology 
•    Care for general medical inpatients 
•    Participate in the General Medicine on-call rota 1:8
•    Undertake managerial responsibilities as required
•    Participate in governance, quality improvement, audit and teaching

Situated just 40 minutes flying time from London with excellent transport links to Europe the small beautiful Island of Jersey enjoys great weather, sandy beaches surrounded by soaring cliffs and offers a healthy work-life balance. Whether watching the sun set into the sea over a beach barbecue, dining out in Michelin starred restaurants Jersey has the ideal lifestyle and work environment. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the successful applicant to relocate to the Island.

We provide a competitive salary and full travelling expenses are paid from a UK port of entry. The post may attract residential qualifications depending on length of contract.  Otherwise locum accommodation may be offered. Jersey has excellent living conditions including affordable private education for children.

Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice. Applicants would be on the General Medical Council specialist register (CCT, CESR or oversees equivalent), or qualify for entry to the Specialist registry or within 6 months of award of CCT by the date of interview.

As this position will work with vulnerable people, the selection process will involve safeguarding measures and include an enhanced DBS check.
