Consultant & Clinical Lead in Emergency Medicine
94,615.64 to £170,025.92 a year Dependent on experience. Pts 18-20 by panel agreement only
Permanent, Full time – flexible working
Ref: K0011-22-7578

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Medicine Department at Jersey General Hospital. We are looking to appoint a dynamic-forward thinking consultant in emergency medicine to join the existing team of six consultants.

The candidate will have the opportunity to be the clinical lead and will lead on the development and transformation of emergency medicine in Jersey where patient centred care is at the heart of our services.

The Emergency Department is the only ED in Jersey and in 2021 saw 35669 attendances. The department works closely with the 25 bed Acute Assessment Unit and the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit. The post holder will participate in the consultant on-call rota for Emergency Medicine.

The position comprises 10 PAs. Applications from candidates who are interested in a fixed term contract or a non-clinical lead position will also be considered.

Continuing development is important and a generous study leave budget can be tailored towards the requirements of the individual, with a purpose built Post Graduate Education Centre equipped to the highest standard.

Full travelling expenses are paid from a UK port of entry, with a generous relocation package available.

The post attracts residential qualifications and Jersey has excellent affordable private education for children. Under Jersey Law, applicants must possess FULL registration with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice.

The Government of Jersey is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable people (to include children) and requires all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As this position will work with vulnerable people, the selection process will involve safeguarding measures and include an enhanced DBS check.
