Applications are invited for a full time or part time Consultant in Anaesthesia.
It is an exciting time to join our welcoming and friendly team of 65 anaesthetic consultants based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The successful candidates will support the current establishment of NHS and academic staff contributing to the on-call rota, and provide senior anaesthetic cover for elective, emergency and trauma surgery.
Leicester Royal Infirmary is one of the very largest NHS Trust acute hospitals with a busy emergency department. There are opportunities for the successful candidate to deliver clinical care on emergency and trauma lists and gain further experience and expertise in a variety of specialities, including upper and lower GI surgery, maxillofacial and ENT, plastics and ophthalmology.
The scope of surgical practice at the hospitals offers exciting and varied clinical opportunities for consultant anaesthetists and there is continued support for non-clinical professional activities both inside and outside the trust.
UHL is fully committed to continuing medical education for consultants. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to departmental quality improvement activity and the clinical supervision of postgraduate trainees in Anaesthesia. The UHL Department of Anaesthesia is committed to working towards the Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation scheme of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
