Dorset Healthcare are looking to attract GP's to join our Integrated Urgent Care workforce. We offer a fantastic opportunity for GP's who are looking for ad hoc or regular bank work and to join a supportive, multi disciplinary team. This is a great opportunity to further build your general practitioner career in Dorset as part of the Integrated Urgent Care team. We are able to offer work within our Urgent Treatment Centres, Clinical Assessment Service and home visiting service.

Our pay rate is competitive, and we have a weekly payment run. If you are a GP and you are considering ad hoc work this may be an opportunity for you. The sessions we have available consist of:

  • Long and short sessions
  • Mobile home visiting service
  • In hours available (triage and face to face)
  • Weekend days/ weekday evening and nights available

The Integrated Urgent Care service in Dorset provides advice, information and treatment for NHS patients. As a GP you will see, treat and discharge patients of all ages that present minor illnesses or injuries, either over the phone or face to face in the treatment centre or when you are doing a home visit. You will be responsible for assessing patients, planning their care, giving them treatment and discharging them, or referring them as appropriate to other healthcare professionals. You will work alongside GP's, Advanced Practitioners, practice nurses, HCA's and other non-clinical staff to deliver the best possible patient care.

We are looking for;


  • Experienced doctors with GP accreditation
  • Current registration with the GMC and on the NHS performers list
  • MRCGP examination or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in an urgent care environment
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Good clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and management of minor injury/illness presentations
  • Good leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability
