This is an appointment to the Department of Specialist Surgery, which provides clinical services at both Maidstone Hospital and the West Kent wide region.  This is a post for a substantive full-time Consultant in Gynecological Oncology Surgery.  The appointee will not be expected to take part in the acute Obstetrics and Gynecology on call Rota. 

The weekly work schedule will compromise:

• One full day operating list (Including pre/post-operative ward rounds, 0745 to 1800. Operating list run time is 08:30-17:30)
• Two Outpatient clinics (Cancer OPD, and Colp clinic)
• Multi-Disciplinary Team Meeting

The time commitment will be 10PAs per week, made up of 8.5 DPAs and 1.5 SPAs to facilitate revalidation. SPA can be used for activities supporting research, professional development, and the service, which include teaching, audit, mandatory training and additional responsibilities.

There will be no General Gynecological on call commitment, but there is a Gyn-Oncology on call surgical rota consisting of on call on the operating day

(in this JD it would be Tuesday) and weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1:4 as well as internal cover when other members are on leave (6 weeks’ notice required).
